Why are we enabling oAuth for Klaviyo?
Klaviyo is transitioning to a new OAuth authentication flow and will be deprecating their old API keys. This change is scheduled to take effect by June.
- Enhanced Security: OAuth is more secure than manually handling API keys because it allows third-party applications to access Klaviyo on your behalf without requiring you to share your login credentials directly. Instead, you can grant the necessary permissions to access your Klaviyo account data securely.
- Convenience: With Klaviyo OAuth, the integration process becomes seamless and convenient. You no longer need to manually handle API keys or deal with other technical complexities. Instead, you can simply enable the integration by clicking on the install button and granting permission.
- Improved API Rate Limits: OAuth comes with improved API rate limits, which means that you can expect better performance and efficiency when interacting with Klaviyo’s API. This can lead to faster data retrieval and smoother operations for integrated applications or services, in this case Swym.
How to enable Klaviyo oAuth?
If you are an existing Swym merchant you can enable Klaviyo OAuth by following these steps:
Go to your Swym Admin and Click on integrations
Click on Klaviyo
This will redirect to the Klaviyo Settings page, and click on Install
Now the OAuth flow is enabled for your store.
- If you’re using a different provider for email and SMS (for example, Klaviyo for email and Yotpo for SMS), you can uncheck SMS integration on the settings page provided. For setting up Yotpo flows, please refer to https://swym.it/help/yotpo-integration-wishlist/
